Took the day off to get some things done around the house and wanted to take a quick ride to pick up the Sunday paper. As I turned onto the road toward the store I noticed a doe standing by the side of the road. As I always do I slowed to a [...]

I am trying to help the Animal Welfare League win a makeover. In order to do this I joined Zootoo to help raise awareness. The Animal Welfare League located in Chicago Ridge, IL receives no money from any governmental body, which means they survive on personal donations only. Their annual budget is over $1,000,000.00 and [...]

As you may have read in a previous post I was extremely concerned that I had not seen our resident Red-tailed Hawks this entire year so I was relieved to see a mating pair and their one offspring soaring high above my humble abode. There has been a lot of farm loss and new home [...]

I haven’t posted much lately, been busy with camp – another season. Unfortunately it seems that Shady Oaks Camp will most likely cease operations after this term is complete, not enough people interested in keeping the place open as we are having problems getting donations to keep it open. It is a shame [...]
